This year I’ll be giving my first ever public talk (gulp!) at the Dark Mountain Project’s 2011 ‘Uncivilisation Festival‘ which takes place at the Sustainability Centre in Hampshire from the 19th to the 21st of August (which also happens to be from my daughter’s birthday up until my wedding anniversary – another ‘gulp!’).
Based on an article I wrote for Volume 2 of the Dark Mountain Journal, the talk will involve a brief history of the Luddite uprising (which began 200 years ago this November) and the ongoing (some might sat ‘relentless’) Myth of Progress. I’ll be in the main tent of the festival from 2.30pm on Saturday 20th August. Your support (whether in kind words or in rum) would be warmly welcomed – as would any advice on public speaking! 😉
